artist · 2026-05-05

Michelangelo Pistoletto, the Arte Povera pioneer, will be interviewed by Fabio Fazio on the Italian talk show "Che tempo che fa" on Rai Tre on Sunday, January 29, 2017 at 8:15 PM. The interview will focus on his Third Paradise project, a symbol that redefines the infinity sign with philosophical and social implications. Pistoletto stated that the project aims to use artifice—science, technology, art, culture, and politics—to restore life to Earth, leading to a new level of planetary civilization. A new version of the Third Paradise will be inaugurated on Monday, January 30, 2017 at the Arena di Verona, running until February 28, 2017. The project has been realized in 800 different ways in as many locations worldwide. Pistoletto, born in Biella in 1933, is known for his mirror works and the iconic "Venere degli stracci" (1967). His Third Paradise was previously announced as the logo for the International Space Station during a mission involving Italian astronaut Paolo Nespoli.
