Pirelli HangarBicocca Unveils 2019-2020 Exhibition Program
Pirelli HangarBicocca in Milan has announced its 2019-2020 exhibition program, featuring a diverse lineup of international artists. President Marco Tronchetti Provera highlighted the institution's annual attendance of 260,000 visitors and 10,000 children in educational activities, emphasizing Milan's cultural growth. For the first time, Mayor Giuseppe Sala attended the press conference, signaling a new partnership with the city. Artistic director Vicente Todolì stated, 'We try to make exhibitions that have never been done before.' The program includes Giorgio Andreotta Calò (Feb 14–Jul 21, 2019), Sheela Gowda (Apr 4–Sep 15, 2019), Daniel Steegmann Mangrané (Sep 2019–Jan 2020), Cerith Wyn Evans (Oct 2019–Jan 2020), Trisha Baga (Feb–Jul 2020), Chen Zhen retrospective (Apr–Sep 2020), Neïl Beloufa (Sep 2020–Jan 2021), and Steve McQueen (Oct 2020–Feb 2021) in collaboration with Tate London. Most exhibitions are curated internally by Vicente Todolì, Roberta Tenconi, Lucia Aspesi, and Fiammetta Griccioli.
