Pirelli HangarBicocca Announces 2022-2023 Program with Tosatti Retrospective

Pirelli HangarBicocca in Milan has unveiled its exhibition program for 2022-2023, featuring eight major shows by international artists. The lineup includes Anicka Yi (February 17, 2022, Shed), Steve McQueen (March 31, 2022, Navate), Bruce Nauman (September 15, 2022, Navate), Dineo Seshee Bopape (October 6, 2022, Shed), Gian Maria Tosatti (February 23, 2023, Shed), Ann Veronica Janssens (April 6, 2023, Navate), Thao Nguyen Phan (September 2023, Shed), and James Lee Byars (October 2023 to March 2024, Navate). Tosatti is the only Italian artist in the program; his exhibition, titled "Hôtel de la Lune," is a large environmental intervention conceived three years ago and delayed by the pandemic. The program emphasizes retrospectives and collaborations with institutions like Tate Modern and Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam. Vicente Todolí, artistic director, stated that shows are designed to engage deeply with the industrial space. Marco Tronchetti Provera, president of Pirelli HangarBicocca, highlighted the institution's commitment to contemporary culture and its role as a vaccination hub during the pandemic.
