Pinuccio Sciola's Sound Sculptures at Architecture Biennale
The exhibition 'Sound Architectures' at the Italian Pavilion of the 2021 Architecture Biennale presents a selection of works by Pinuccio Sciola (1942–2016) that explore urban plurality and complexity. The display features his 'Future Cities' and 'Sound Cities' sculpture series, whose morphological mutations create a complex sculptural ecosystem enriched by the artist's audiovisual archive. On August 10, a piano concert by composer Andrea Granitzio will be held, inspired by the liquid sound of Sciola's 'Sound Stones,' which will be played by his daughter Maria. The exhibition is organized by the Fondazione Sciola in partnership with Galleria Copetti Antiquari di Udine and supported by the Fondazione di Sardegna. A catalog titled 'Pinuccio Sciola. Una sensibilità architettonica' edited by Giulia Pilloni with Viviana Vergerio Guerra and a preface by curator Pierandrea Angius accompanies the show.
