Pinocchio Exhibition at Villa Bardini Explores the Puppet's Enduring Allure for Artists

The Villa Bardini in Florence is currently hosting an exhibition named 'Enigma Pinocchio,' which delves into the artistic fascination surrounding the character for over a century. Curated by Lucia Fiaschi, the display showcases more than fifty pieces from various museums and private collections worldwide, encompassing sculptures, paintings, and multimedia works. The exhibition is divided into seven thematic sections that define Pinocchio by negation. Notable artists featured include Alberto Giacometti, David LaChapelle, and Paul McCarthy. Backed by the Municipality of Florence and other supporters, this exhibition highlights the significance of art in cultural development. It follows earlier Pinocchio exhibitions, such as a 2013 show at Museo Luzzati in Genoa and the 1982 traveling exhibit 'Pinocchio nel paese degli artisti.'
