Pino Pascali's Photography Takes Center Stage at Fondazione Prada

Fondazione Prada in Milan presents a major exhibition on Pino Pascali, emphasizing his overlooked role as a photographer. The show, accompanied by a two-volume catalog, features high-quality images that explore the relationship between artists and photography in the late 1960s. Pascali collaborated with photographers such as Claudio Abate, Andrea Taverna, Oscar Savio, Ugo Mulas, Paolo Bressano, Marcello Colitti, André Morain, Mario Dondero, Mario Cresci, Elisabetta Catalano, and Rosa Foschi. He also worked with the advertising agency of filmmaker Sergio Lodolo. A 2018 volume by Antonio Frugis and Roberto Lacarbonara, published by postmedia books, further examines Pascali's photographic practice. The exhibition highlights how Pascali meticulously documented his work and used photographs for publications and to engage viewers imaginatively. Among the catalog images are those by Rosa Foschi, who made the film SKMP2 (Sargentini, Kounellis, Mattiacci, Pascali, Patella) shortly after Pascali's death in a motorcycle accident at age 33.
