Pino Boresta launches SOS-Sfratto crowdfunding to avoid eviction
Roman artist Pino Boresta, known for his pioneering sticker art in Italy, has launched a crowdfunding campaign called SOS-Sfratto to raise €6,000 by April 30, 2017, to prevent his family's eviction. If the goal is met, he will donate the unique work "I don't give up Arancio" (2013) to the Palazzo Collicola Arti Visive museum in Spoleto. Donors of at least €30 receive his historic CUS stickers; €100 donors get a 2016 Smorfia Manipolata; €500 donors receive a historical Smorfia Texture from 1994/1995. Boresta, an outsider artist, has been placing adhesive "smorfie" (grimaces) on Rome's urban landscape for nearly 25 years, predating the international sticker art movement exemplified by Shepard Fairey.
