Pinksummer launches open call for 'anarchitecture' reflections on Genoa's Morandi Bridge collapse

Genoa's Pinksummer gallery, directed by Francesca Pennone and Antonella Berruti, has launched an open call for ideas on 'anarchitecture' to reflect on the Morandi Bridge collapse that killed 43 people on August 14, 2018. The call is tied to the upcoming exhibition 'Filling the Absence' (opening February 28) featuring American artist Peter Fend and Hungarian-born, French-naturalized architect Yona Friedman, curated by Andrea Canziani and Emanuele Piccardo, with a documentary film co-produced by Museo Nivola and Pinksummer, curated by Lennart Wolff. Participants are invited to work with the absence left by the collapsed viaduct over the Polcevera stream, drawing inspiration from Gordon Matta-Clark's 1973 'A W-Hole House' cutting intervention in Sestri Ponente, near the Val Polcevera. The call is open to architects, designers, artists, writers, poets, and bakers. Proposals will be exhibited as projects. Deadline: March 15.
