Pinault Collection Announces 2025 Venice Exhibitions for Schütte and Trouvé

exhibition · 2026-04-26

The Pinault Collection has unveiled its 2025 exhibition program in Venice, featuring two major retrospectives opening April 6, 2025. At Punta della Dogana, Thomas Schütte (born 1954 in Oldenburg) will present a comprehensive survey from April 6 to November 23, 2025, curated by Camille Morineau and Jean-Marie Gallais. The exhibition includes approximately 50 works from the Pinault Collection, plus loans from the artist and over 100 works on paper, many previously unseen. Schütte's practice explores the human condition through sculpture, architectural models, photography, drawings, and prints, characterized by irony, grotesque humor, and theatricality. At Palazzo Grassi, Tatiana Trouvé (born 1968 in Cosenza) will have her first major Italian solo exhibition from April 6, 2025 to January 4, 2026, curated by Caroline Bourgeois and James Lingwood. The show features sculptures, large-scale drawings, and new site-specific installations, engaging with works from the last decade. Trouvé's work creates dreamlike, rarefied worlds where images and objects shift between two and three dimensions, inviting visitors into a spatial, temporal, and mental labyrinth. Both exhibitions draw primarily from the Pinault Collection, supplemented by loans from international museums, private collections, and the artists' archives.
