Pinacoteca di Brera Launches Guided Tours in Milan's Suburbs

Pinacoteca di Brera has launched 'N(u)ove strade per Brera', a project offering guided tours in Milan's peripheral neighborhoods through the end of 2022. The initiative aims to make the museum's heritage accessible to diverse audiences, including schools, families, youth, and the elderly, with a focus on those facing social integration challenges. Devised by Cristina Moretti of Alfabeti d’Arte with Alice Bocca, the project collaborates with multiple institutions to connect Municipio 9 to the museum. Two itineraries are planned: 'Linea verde' explores sustainable agriculture at OrtoComuneNiguarda and Orto Botanico di Brera, culminating in participant-created artworks inspired by the Pinacoteca's collections. 'Linea blu' visits Villa Clerici, Villa Litta, and Cassina Anna in Municipio 9, each with historical ties to the museum—Villa Clerici houses a copy of Pompeo Batoni's painting, Villa Litta was frequented by Alessandro Manzoni and Francesco Hayez, and Cassina Anna hosts Bruzzano's public library. The project also includes exhibitions, workshops, and interactive itineraries.
