Pinacoteca Agnelli Opens Walter Pfeiffer Retrospective and Modigliani Scientific Exhibition

The Pinacoteca Agnelli in Turin has launched a new season of exhibitions and public art installations on the Lingotto rooftop park, Pista 500. The first major institutional monographic show in Italy dedicated to Swiss photographer Walter Pfeiffer, titled "In Good Company" (curated by Nicola Trezzi and Simon Castets), runs until September 13, 2026, featuring over one hundred photographs from the 1970s to today. Simultaneously, the "Beyond the Collection" cycle presents "Modigliani sottopelle. Quattro capolavori" (curated by Pietro Rigolo and Beatrice Zanelli), also until September 13, 2026, which uses scientific analysis and algorithms to study three canvas rolls used by Amedeo Modigliani between 1917 and 1919, proposing a new dating of "Nu couché" (acquired by Giovanni and Marella Agnelli in 1960). Loans include works from Staatsgalerie Stuttgart and Centre Pompidou. On Pista 500, Nathalie Du Pasquier installed "Bandiere per Zefiro" (2026), fifteen banners on the east facade combining geometric abstraction and vivid colors, while Peter Fischli's "ADDITION, SUBTRACTION, MULTIPLICATION" (2026) occupies the elliptical ramp with deconstructed tourist train cars, referencing Futurist experiments by Giacomo Balla.
