Pinacoteca Agnelli Fall 2023: Bayrle, McKenzie, and New Pista 500 Works

The Pinacoteca Agnelli in Turin has unveiled its fall 2023 lineup, set to commence on November 3, aligning with Artissima and Turin art week. A highlight is a solo exhibition by Thomas Bayrle, titled 'Form Form SuperForm,' curated by Sarah Cosulich and Saim Demircan. Bayrle, a Berlin native born in 1937, draws inspiration from FIAT, showcasing a new piece on Pista 500. This exhibition will also feature a bilingual catalog. Additionally, 'Beyond the Collection' presents works by Lucy McKenzie and Antonio Canova, curated by Lucrezia Calabrò Visconti. McKenzie’s 'Vulcanizzato' engages with Canova's plaster casts, such as 'Danzatrice con dito al mento' (1809-1814) and 'Danzatrice con mani sui fianchi' (1811-1812), examining the relationship between classical models and contemporary commercial figures. On Pista 500, four new installations will complement existing pieces by artists like Nina Beier, VALIE EXPORT, and others. The new director, Sarah Cosulich, is advancing the institution's 20th anniversary with innovative exhibitions and site-specific commissions.
