Pietro Ruffo's 'Costellazioni di Roma' Unveiled on Metro C Construction Silos in Piazza Venezia

exhibition · 2026-04-26

Pietro Ruffo's installation, 'Costellazioni di Roma,' was inaugurated on December 16, 2024, at the Metro C archeostation site located in Piazza Venezia, Rome. This marks the inaugural work of the 'MURALES' initiative by Webuild, backed by Roma Capitale and various Superintendencies. Over a span of four months, six artists, including Elisabetta Benassi, Liliana Moro, Marinella Senatore, Toiletpaper, and Nico Vascellari, will produce site-specific artworks. Ruffo's creation showcases 13 mythological figures from the astronomical calendar and is based on Luigi Canina's 1850 Topographic Map of Ancient Rome, rendered at a 1:10 scale. Mayor Roberto Gualtieri described it as 'one of the largest contemporary art sites in the world,' with a focus on urban regeneration and sustainable development.
