Pietro Giromini's Synapse Installation Unveiled at Covivio's Meridian Building in Milanofiori

Covivio, a real estate company, has unveiled Synapse, a site-specific installation by artist Pietro Giromini at the Meridian building in Milanofiori, Rozzano. The work was selected through a call promoted by Covivio and the Fondazione Michele Cea ETS as part of Covivio's European program One building, one piece of art, which integrates contemporary art into its properties. Synapse transforms a corridor into an interactive network of approximately 700 modular sculptures made from sustainable materials, including a composite of cement, recycled cellulose, and natural pigments. The installation aims to stimulate perception, intuition, and well-being for daily passersby. Giromini describes the corridor as an "architectural synapse" that fosters connections between people and ideas, echoing the building's function as a workspace for collaboration. The artist emphasizes the ethical dimension of aesthetics, using humble materials to highlight their poetic and sustainable potential. The work invites a meditative experience, breaking routine and opening mental spaces. Giromini's process involved 3D modeling and casting, balancing control and randomness to create an unexpected equilibrium. The installation reflects Covivio's vision of integrating art into everyday work environments, making culture accessible beyond dedicated spaces.
