Piet Mondrian retrospective at MUDEC Milan traces evolution from figuration to abstraction

An extensive exhibition focusing on Piet Mondrian is set to launch at MUDEC – Museo delle Culture in Milan, running from November 24, 2021, until March 27, 2022. Entitled "Piet Mondrian. Dalla figurazione all'astrazione," the showcase explores the artist's transition from landscape art to geometric abstraction. Organized by 24 ORE Cultura, it presents sixty artworks borrowed from the Kunstmuseum Den Haag, alongside selections from the Museo del Novecento and the National Museum of Serbia. The curators include Benno Tempel, Daniel Koep, and Doede Hardeman. Additionally, a segment dedicated to De Stijl and a design area curated by Domitilla Dardi are featured. A video installation by Storyville links Mondrian’s art to jazz, emphasizing his impact as a colorist.
