Pierre Huyghe's Ecosystem Art Invades Fondation Beyeler

exhibition · 2026-05-19

French artist Pierre Huyghe, born in Paris in 1962, has been creating ecosystem-like artworks since the 1990s, where bees, algae, octopuses, artificial intelligence, and human figures coexist in open loops. This summer, the Fondation Beyeler in Basel, housed in Renzo Piano's building surrounded by ponds and water lilies, dedicates its most contemplative wing to Huyghe's breathing environments. The exhibition, conceived specifically for the Fondation Beyeler, brings together new creations and recent pieces, continuing the vein of large installations that made his reputation. It runs from May 24 to September 13, 2026.
