Pierre Ardouvin's labyrinthine installations at CCC and Château du Rivau

Pierre Ardouvin presents two concurrent exhibitions: 'Maison vide' at Centre de création contemporaine (CCC) in Tours/Léméré and works at Château du Rivau, from April 9 to September 4, 2011. At CCC, a maze of identical, slightly inclined partitions without doors disorients visitors, accompanied by the sound of slamming doors. The exhibition includes a retrospective of drawings curated by Alain Julien-Laferrière, spanning works from 1992 to 2011. Ardouvin's practice references Marcel Duchamp, Bertrand Lavier, René Magritte, Marcel Broodthaers, and Robert Filliou. At Château du Rivau, 'Bonhomme de neige' (2007) persists under the sun amidst a future pumpkin patch, while the carousel 'Encore et toujours' (2009) features a single horse evoking nostalgia and solitude. The exhibition will have a second phase starting June 18, transforming a drawing into an installation.
