Piero Manzoni Solo Exhibition at Museo Novecento in Florence
The Museo Novecento in Florence presents 'Solo. Piero Manzoni', the first monographic museum exhibition dedicated to the artist in the city. Curated by Gaspare Luigi Marconi, the show features Manzoni's iconic works from 1959 to 1962, including the 'Base Magica', 'Linee', 'Corpi d'aria', 'Uova scultura', and 'Carte d'autenticità'. The exhibition is organized in collaboration with the Fondazione Piero Manzoni and aims to fill the gap of Manzoni's absence from Florence's civic collections. Director Sergio Risaliti highlights Manzoni as a father of performance art and a great painter and conceptual artist. The show integrates with the museum's permanent collection and includes theoretical documents. Concurrently, sculptor Gianni Caravaggio's work 'Giocami e giocami di nuovo' (1996) is displayed alongside a 'Base Magica' as part of the 'Duel' cycle. The exhibition runs at Museo Novecento in Florence.
