Piero della Francesca fresco in Arezzo opens to public on scaffolding
From January 27 to March 12, 2024, the public can access scaffolding to view Piero della Francesca's fresco cycle "Stories of the True Cross" up close in the Bacci Chapel of the Basilica of San Francesco in Arezzo. The conservation maintenance, starting January 10, 2024, is overseen by the regional directorate of Museums of Tuscany. The fresco, painted between 1452 and 1466, is a Renaissance masterpiece. Guided tours lasting about one hour for small groups are organized by Fondazione Arezzo Intour and bookable via museiarezzo.it.
