Pierluigi Giorgi's Photography Reveals Pompeii's Dual Realities

Photographer Pierluigi Giorgi presents 'Pompei Intra Extra' at Casa Saraceni in Bologna, hosted by the Cassa di Risparmio di Bologna. The exhibition offers an unprecedented view of Pompeii, inspired by the University of Bologna's participation in the Piano della Conoscenza di Pompei in 2015—a documentation and analysis project within the Grande Pompei initiative, funded by European and national sources and directed by the Soprintendenza. Giorgi's photographic journey captures both ancient and modern Pompeii, positioning himself at the intersection of past and present. An additional section features portraits of young researchers from the University of Bologna involved in the excavation campaign.
