Picasso's Paper and Sculpture Works at MASI Lugano
The Museo d'Arte della Svizzera Italiana (MASI) in Lugano presents 'Picasso ‒ Uno sguardo differente', an exhibition of 120 works (105 on paper and 15 sculptures) by Pablo Picasso, from 1905 to 1967. Curated from the collections of the Musée Picasso in Paris, the show aims to offer a fresh perspective on the Spanish master. The installation juxtaposes drawings on walls with sculptures at center stage, progressing toward windows overlooking the lake. Highlights include the 1909 'Tête de femme (Fernande)', the 1914 papier collé 'Verre, bouteille de vin, paquet de tabac, journal', and sculptures such as 'Mandolino e Clarinetto' (1913), 'Violino' (1915), 'Tête de mort' (1943), 'La Chèvre' (1950), and 'Femme à l'enfant' (1961). The exhibition runs until June 17, 2018.
