Picasso, Morandi and Parmiggiani Still Lifes at Bevilacqua La Masa
During the Venice Biennale, Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa presents "Picasso, Morandi, Parmiggiani: Still Lifes," curated by Cécile Debray and open until July 25, 2026. The exhibition brings together three masters of contemporary art around the still life genre, featuring works by Pablo Picasso, Giorgio Morandi, and Claudio Parmiggiani. Picasso's assemblages and deconstructions develop a new pictorial language while reviving the memento mori theme. Morandi's serial compositions of common bottles on studio shelves become timeless and metaphysical motifs. Parmiggiani's smoke projections of objects explore absence and disappearance. All pieces constitute inquiries into absence and disappearance, offering a contemporary reinterpretation of vanitas.
