Picasso Málaga Museum Extends 'Structures of Invention' Exhibition Through 2028
The Board of Trustees at the Picasso Málaga Museum has decided to prolong the exhibition titled 'Pablo Picasso: Structures of Invention. The Unity of a Work' until 2028 at Buenavista Palace, due to an enthusiastic public reception since its launch in 2024. This exhibition features 140 pieces from Picasso's private collection, with ten pieces never before exhibited in Spain, covering a range of artistic mediums. Organized in collaboration with the Almine and Bernard Ruiz-Picasso Foundation, it highlights recurring themes throughout Picasso's career, under the academic guidance of Michael FitzGerald. Important themes include the human figure, still life, and eroticism, alongside five specialized exhibitions by researchers focusing on particular elements of Picasso's artistry. Noteworthy works include two paintings from the 1920s, the 1933 sculpture Reclining Woman, and three African sculptures.
