Piano Terra: New Art and Education Space Opens in Rome
A new multidisciplinary space dedicated to contemporary art and education, Piano Terra, opens in Rome on February 18, 2025. Founded by Giorgia Rissone in collaboration with Jenny Hannuna, the project began as a temporary initiative in 2023 and now finds a permanent home at Piazza Grecia in the Villaggio Olimpico, within the Distretto del Contemporaneo. The inaugural exhibition, Ramo d’oro, features an original intervention by Elisa Montessori (Genoa, 1931) with a text by Cecilia Canziani, running until March 29, 2025. Piano Terra aims to be a dynamic, community-oriented space offering workshops, courses, and exhibition projects. A notable feature is the Project Window, a bimonthly experimental space for contemporary artists, with upcoming projects by Alessandro Dandini De Sylva and Luca Grechi. The opening will be followed by a talk led by Cecilia Canziani, the first in a series of events focusing on theoretical and practical understanding of artistic languages, particularly painting.
