Piano City festival arrives in Lisbon for the first time
The Piano City festival, founded by German artist Andreas Kern in Berlin in 2010, is set to launch in Lisbon from September 27 to 29, 2024. This event will showcase 32 performances across genres such as classical, jazz, fado-jazz, jazz-flamenco, and ambient music at various locations. Its goal is to introduce piano music into public areas, appealing to a wide range of audiences. Previous festivals have been held in cities like Madrid and Athens. In Lisbon, venues will include Palácio Galveias and Jardim dos Coruchéus. The festival opens on September 27 at 7 PM with performances by Ana Beatriz Ferreira, José Pedro Ribeiro, and Vasco Dantas, featuring Júlio Resende's "Fado & Further." The program also highlights Spanish and Italian piano music. Organized by Darcos and TopArtEspaña, it receives support from Eni Plenitude Iberia.
