Piano C: New Cultural Space Opens in Ancona's Oldest District

cultural-heritage · 2026-04-26

Piano C, a new cultural venue, has been established in the historic Capodimonte neighborhood of Ancona, previously a Jewish ghetto. The space, created by architect Nicoletta Carnevali and curator Alessandro Moscatelli, is situated at Via Podesti 33 and will feature the Similitudini Festival, which has been celebrating poetry and visual arts since 2017. Its first exhibition, "De Trilogia," showcases works by Albanian artist Anjeza Rama (born 1985) and is scheduled from May 25 to June 30, 2024. Carnevali envisions Piano C as a cultural center for Marche, emphasizing the area's rich history and modern artistic expressions. Notably, Capodimonte is also the birthplace of actress Virna Lisi in 1936 and houses the Church of the SS. Sacramento and the Synagogue on Via Astagno.
