Photology AIR: New Contemporary Art Park Opens in Noto, Sicily

exhibition · 2026-05-04

Founded in 1992 by Davide Faccioli in Milan, Photology has introduced Photology AIR (Art In Ruins) at the Busulmone estate, located near Noto, Sicily. This contemporary art venue, situated within the refurbished remains of a 19th-century monastery, will host various events including exhibitions, film festivals, artist residencies, workshops, and tastings of local cuisine and wines. Drawing inspiration from the 'Utopia of Ruins' theme at the 2014 Venice Biennale, the project merges art, tourism, and regional culture. The program, running until September 23, features exhibitions, an Art Trail, an Art Film Fest, and activities for children. The first exhibition, 'Land Art in America,' showcases works by Gianfranco Gorgoni. Noto's historic center was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2002.
