Photography Exhibition at Treviso Hospital's Cardiology Ward
The exhibition 'Battiti nel Paesaggio' is on view at the waiting rooms of the Cardiology Department of Ospedale Ca' Foncello in Treviso. Initiated ten years ago by former head physician Zoran Olivari under the series 'L'arte fa bene al cuore' (Art is good for the heart), the program aims to alleviate suffering through contemporary art. Current head Carlo Cernetti continued the initiative, entrusting this year's edition to photography. Curator Loris Menegazzi, also an exhibiting artist, assembled thirteen photographers from the Treviso area, including teachers, archivists, documentarists, graphic designers, and reporters. The exhibition explores social, architectural, and landscape aspects of the Treviso region. A historic photograph by Giuseppe Ferretto, 'Fabbrica di stearina e pila di riso' (1872), donated by collector Giuseppe Vanzella, serves as a tutelary figure. The accompanying catalog features an introduction by art historian Elsa Dezuanni and presentations of each artist's work.
