Photographer Sentenced to 14 Years for Hidden Camera Crimes
Gordon Cordell, a 48-year-old photographer known for his work in sports and weddings, has been sentenced to 14 years in prison after pleading guilty to 13 charges of secretly recording both minors and adults. He hid cameras that looked like Bluetooth speakers and charger blocks in places like bathrooms, dressing rooms, and a motel, capturing images of at least seven minors and six adult women. Previously a sports photographer and girls' softball coach for the Wilmington School District in Wilmington, Ohio, he also placed cameras at wedding venues. Judge Andrew McCoy criticized his actions as 'calculated and premeditated,' noting the significant harm caused to victims. After his arrest in August 2025, the school district cut ties with him, amidst similar recent arrests in the U.K.
