Photo Città della Pieve: A Photography Lab and Social Hub in Umbria
Established in 2017 by Attilio Maria Navarra (born in Rome, 1969), Photo Città della Pieve is an artistic venue located in a renovated 19th-century bakery, Forno Bassini (constructed in 1808), in Città della Pieve, Umbria. The space fosters photographic culture, safeguards local heritage, and encourages social revitalization, offering a library, darkroom, photo studio, workshop, and communal area. Collaborating with the cultural association "Il Forno" Onlus, the lab provides training for marginalized groups and unemployed youth. Artists such as Maurizio Galimberti, Paola Agosti, Silvia Camporesi, Alessandra Baldoni, and Francesco Cito (born in Naples, 1949) are commissioned during residencies. The fifth exhibition, "Deus, Spiritus, Homines," showcasing Cito's work, commenced in December 2019 and is set to conclude on June 13, 2020.
