Phillips Hong Kong Opens with Imperial Qing Collection and Top Lots by Nara, Kusama

On March 18, 2023, Phillips will inaugurate its new Asia headquarters located in the WKCDA Tower, designed by Herzog & de Meuron, within Hong Kong's West Kowloon Cultural District. This expansive 52,000-square-meter venue will host several spring auctions: Jewels Online from March 17-29, Watches Online from March 28 to April 4, and 20th Century & Contemporary Art on March 30-31. The opening day will feature items belonging to Aisin-Gioro Puyi, the final emperor of the Qing dynasty, including a Patek Philippe Reference 96 Quantieme Lune and a handwritten notebook. The first 20th Century & Contemporary Art Evening Sale will highlight Yoshitomo Nara's Lookin' for a Treasure from 1995, alongside Yayoi Kusama's Pumpkin, valued up to $6.4 million, and Infinity Dots (HTI), estimated at $3.2-3.8 million.
