Philip Colbert's Lobster Sculptures to Invade Pompeii in 2026

Scottish artist Philip Colbert will install his signature lobster sculptures across the archaeological site of Pompeii in 2026, marking the historic city's first contemporary sculpture exhibition in three decades. The exhibition, titled 'Rock Lobster,' is organized in collaboration with the Archaeological Park of Pompeii and will feature large-scale crustacean-themed works placed among the ancient ruins. Colbert, known for his pop-surrealist style and lobster motif, aims to create a dialogue between contemporary art and the preserved Roman city. The show is scheduled to open in spring 2026 and will run for several months.
