Philip Colbert leads treasure hunt for kids at Banca Ifis sculpture park in Mestre

festival-fair · 2026-04-26

On May 26, 2024, from 3:30 to 4:30 PM, the Parco Internazionale di Scultura di Banca Ifis at Villa Fürstenberg in Mestre will host a treasure hunt for children aged 5 to 10, led by artist Philip Colbert. Participants will search for stickers of Colbert's iconic lobsters, hidden among plants and sculptures, using a treasure map. Completed maps are handed to the artist, and each child receives a small replica of the giant lobster sculpture. Colbert, known as 'Lobster Man,' draws inspiration from Dalí and Surrealism, using the lobster as a pop-art motif to explore history, art, philosophy, fashion, mythology, and mass culture. His large work 'Lobster' is already installed in the park. This is the park's first event for children, complementing the junior section of the Ifis Art app. Future events include a study day on Made in Italy and art (early June), a performance by Nico Vascellari on June 20 with a monograph published by Ifis Art and Skira, and a biodiversity workshop.
