Philanthropist and Journalist Robert Hung Ngai Ho Dies at 93

On November 30, Robert Hung Ngai Ho, a 93-year-old philanthropist and journalist renowned for his advocacy of contemporary Buddhism and Chinese culture, passed away in Vancouver. Born in Hong Kong in 1932, he was the grandson of the businessman Robert Ho Tung. Ho obtained his bachelor's degree from Colgate University and later earned a master's in journalism from Columbia University. His career included positions at the Pittsburgh Press and National Geographic before he took the helm of the Kung Sheung Daily and Evening News in Hong Kong. In 2005, he established the Robert H. N. Ho Family Foundation to support Chinese culture and Buddhist teachings. In 2018, he was honored with the Order of Canada. He is survived by his wife Greta, sons Robert and Kevin, and five grandchildren.
