PhEST Turns 10: Expanded Festival in Monopoli Runs Through November 16
PhEST, the international photography and art festival in Monopoli, Puglia, celebrates its tenth anniversary with a special expanded edition running from August 8 to November 16, 2025. The festival features 38 exhibitions in historic indoor venues and outdoor seaside locations. Artistic director Giovanni Troilo introduces the theme 'This is us. A capsule to space,' inspired by the Voyager Golden Record. The new headquarters is the Monastero di San Leonardo, restored by the festival and led by Cinzia Negherbon. Major exhibitions include Martin Parr's 'Pleased to Meet You' (curated by Arianna Rinaldo and Troilo), Francisco Goya's 'Los Caprichos' at Castello Carlo V (in collaboration with the Museo de Bellas Artes de Valencia), and a decennial residency show. Other artists include Sam Youkilis, Arianna Arcara, Dario Agrimi, Yorgos Lanthimos, and Piero Percoco. The festival also launches its first official book and features outdoor installations along the port and beaches.
