Pharrell Williams Appointed Louis Vuitton Men's Creative Director

Pharrell Williams has been named the new creative director of Louis Vuitton's men's line, succeeding Virgil Abloh who died in November 2021. The announcement was made via a press release and Instagram post by the French fashion house. Louis Vuitton's new president and CEO, Pietro Beccari, expressed delight, noting their past collaborations between 2004 and 2008. Williams, a musician and entrepreneur, has long been involved in fashion, having worked with Chanel, Adidas, and previously co-designed sunglasses and jewelry for Vuitton. His first show will be in June during Paris Fashion Week. The appointment ends speculation that Colm Dillane of KIDSUPER might take the role. Williams was born on April 5, 1973, in Virginia, and co-founded The Neptunes with Chad Hugo. He has collaborated with artists like Jay-Z, Madonna, and Beyoncé.
