PetriPaselli's 99objects Project Debuts at MAMbo Bologna

On October 26, 2017, the artist duo PetriPaselli—Matteo and Luciano, a photographer and an engineer—launch 99objects at MAMbo in Bologna, in collaboration with Adiacenze. The project marks ten years since their first exhibition and explores collecting and accumulation through three branches: 99on-paper, a series of 99 books (first released that day, then quarterly); 99words, a blog; and 99art&design, producing objects with professionals. The presentation involves art historian Fabiola Naldi, journalist-curator Daniele Perra (also Artribune cover curator), collector Rossella Ricci, and MAMbo's new director Lorenzo Balbi. PetriPaselli distinguish collecting from accumulation by intention and organization, though they find the line thin and focus on 'low' popular collecting. Their work has shifted from autobiographical to macro perspectives, now collaborating with collectors on their collections. The duo's earlier piece Phoenicopterus roseus domesticus (2017), featuring pink flamingos, appeared on Artribune's summer cover and sparked a 'flamingo-mania'.
