Peter Pál Pelbart seminar on 'What Is the Contemporary?' at The Showroom
On April 21, 2015, between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM, The Showroom in London will offer a free seminar featuring Peter Pál Pelbart, a philosopher and essayist. He'll discuss his work 'What Is the Contemporary?', which will be part of issue 39 of the Afterall journal. Pelbart, who hails from Hungary and studied in France, now teaches at Pontifícia Universidade Católica in São Paulo. He has translated Gilles Deleuze's works into Portuguese and has written extensively on subjects like madness and biopolitics, including his 2013 book, Cartography of Exhaustion: Nihilism Inside Out. He is also associated with the Ueinzz Theater Company. Prior to the seminar, attendees will receive a PDF of his text.
