Peter Lindbergh's 'Untold Stories' Exhibition in Turin

A posthumous exhibition of Peter Lindbergh's work, titled 'Untold Stories,' is on view at the ARTiglieria Contemporary Art Center in Turin. The show presents an immersive journey through the photographer's career, featuring a collage of famous portraits, street views, and intimate details arranged in a circular first room. Subsequent rooms display compositions on white supports against an exposed historic ceiling, with juxtapositions of elderly hands, street scenes, nude bodies, and blurred shots of abandoned heels. The exhibition emphasizes Lindbergh's curatorial eye, treating each composition as an artwork celebrating empathy and freedom. The final room is dedicated to 'Testament,' a project exploring the factors that lead death row inmates to violence. It features a video installation of Elmer Carrol, an American sentenced to death in 2013 for murder in Florida, who remains silent for thirty minutes, engaging viewers in reflection. Lindbergh stated he felt 'the need to know' after analyzing about three hundred trials. The exhibition runs at ARTiglieria in Turin, curated by the Peter Lindbergh Foundation.
