Peter Eleey Appointed Curator-at-Large at UCCA Center for Contemporary Art
Peter Eleey, who formerly held the position of chief curator at MoMA PS1 in New York, has been appointed curator-at-large at the UCCA Center for Contemporary Art in Beijing. His role will involve advising on exhibitions and programs for UCCA's three locations: its main site in Beijing, the upcoming Shanghai branch set to open next month, and UCCA Dune in Beidaihe, Hebei province, which opened in 2018. While based in New York, Eleey will focus on organizing exhibitions and fostering partnerships. UCCA director Philip Tinari praised Eleey's decade-long influence at MoMA PS1 and his curatorial insight as vital for developing a global museum for contemporary art in China. His extensive collaborations include notable Chinese artists such as Cai Guo-Qiang and Zhang Huan.
