Perrotin to Open Fourth Paris Gallery as a Virtual Salon

other · 2026-04-27

Emmanuel Perrotin announced on Instagram the opening of a fourth gallery space in Paris, described as a 'salon' rather than a traditional exhibition venue. Located at 70 square meters on Avenue Matignon in the eighth arrondissement, near the Champs-Élysées and Grand Palais, the space will open in spring. It will feature a high-definition projection device for viewing artworks on request, but will not host exhibitions. Perrotin already operates three galleries in Paris and spaces in Hong Kong, New York, Seoul, Tokyo, and Shanghai. The new venue is part of a trend among mega-galleries expanding services: David Zwirner launched the podcast 'Dialogues' and an online sales platform; Hauser & Wirth founded the magazine 'Ursula' and the non-profit Hauser & Wirth Institute. Perrotin has also offered podcasts of talks since 2014, such as a conversation between curator Matthieu Poirier and ArtNews editor Barbara MacAdam for Hans Hartung's exhibition in New York.
