Perrotin Opens London Gallery at Claridge's Hotel in 2025
Emmanuel Perrotin's mega-gallery will open its first UK location in early 2025 at the iconic Claridge's hotel in Mayfair, London. The 350-square-meter space, located on Brook's Mews adjacent to the hotel's ArtSpace Café, will be fully renovated. The move comes despite Brexit-related challenges that have shifted the art market's center toward Paris. Perrotin has participated in Frieze London since 2004 and will return this year with works by Lynn Chadwick, whose estate the gallery now represents. The Claridge's ArtSpace Café opened in 2021 with a Damien Hirst exhibition—the same artist with whom Perrotin began his Paris gallery in 1990-1991. Perrotin cited longstanding relationships with UK collectors and the right opportunity as reasons for the expansion. Colony Investment Management became a majority shareholder in Perrotin in 2023, though details remain scarce.
