Perrotin Gallery in talks to sell 60% stake to Colony Investment Management

Paris-based Colony Investment Management is negotiating to acquire a 60% majority stake in Perrotin Gallery, with founder Emmanuel Perrotin retaining 40% ownership and continuing to lead operations. The transaction is expected to finalize in the second half of 2024, pending standard conditions. Perrotin, established in Paris in 1990, currently operates 11 gallery spaces across seven cities, including recent openings in Gangnam, Korea and a planned Dubai location later this year. The gallery represents prominent artists such as Takashi Murakami, Daniel Arsham, and Sophie Calle. Colony IM maintains offices in Paris, London, Luxembourg, and Rome. According to a joint statement, this partnership aims to combine Perrotin's artistic expertise with Colony IM's corporate infrastructure to support long-term growth. Emmanuel Perrotin described the alliance as the culmination of three decades of work with his team and artists, expressing confidence in Colony IM as an ideal partner for the gallery's next phase. The investment firm's involvement represents a significant capital infusion for the expanding gallery network.
