Perimetro, the Milanese photography magazine, expands to Rome
Perimetro, a photography magazine founded in October 2018 by Sebastiano Leddi with Alioscia Bisceglia and art director Andrea Galbusera, has launched a new edition in Rome called Perimetro Roma. The project, originally focused on Milan, documents the city through unconventional perspectives by local photographers. Perimetro Roma is a collaboration with Contemporary Cluster, directed by Giacomo Guidi. The first print issue will be presented on February 12 and 13, 2021, at Contemporary Cluster's spaces. The magazine started as a monthly print publication for its first 12 issues, then became bimonthly, with each year's issues forming a single volume. Editions include TASCA, SIDE, and BLOCK, each with different formats and limited to 200 copies. Perimetro also has a digital platform and an open archive. In 2020, the project gained international visibility through the charity initiative 100 Fotografi per Bergamo, leading to the Open Edition Gallery, an online platform for affordable fine art prints by 100 Italian photographers. Perimetro Roma was born from an open call that received about 80 submissions, from which Leddi and Guidi selected works for two issues to be published in 2021. The format mirrors the Milan model: the city told by those who live in it. Perimetro has also produced a project in Tokyo (to be presented in April 2021) and plans another in Nairobi, Kenya, demonstrating the adaptability of its format.
