Perimetro launches four open calls for photographers to document Milan

other · 2026-04-26

Perimetro, a community of photographers based in Milan known for its '100 photographers for Bergamo' initiative, has announced four open calls for anyone wishing to become a visual narrator of the city. The calls are part of the Public Program of Milano Urban Center promoted by Triennale Milano and the Municipality of Milan. The four thematic lines are gender, public space, urban agriculture, and mega-events. Participants must submit their project idea and portfolio to perimetro@perimetro.eu by July 10, 2021. Selected projects will be commissioned and eventually exhibited at Triennale Milano. The gender call, in collaboration with the 'Sex and the City' project curated by Florencia Andreoli and Azzurra Muzzonigro, explores how Milan addresses women's needs in domestic and public spaces, labor, sex work, and healthcare. The public space call, sponsored by Quinzii Terna Architecture, focuses on pandemic-induced changes to Milan's urban landscape, such as parks, cycle lanes, and individual transport. The urban agriculture call, supported by Stefano Boeri Architetti and Bosco Verticale, seeks to highlight best practices in urban and peri-urban farming in the Milan metropolitan area. The mega-events call, in synergy with the 'Mega-events and the city' project, examines how events like Expo 2015, the 1990 FIFA World Cup, Fashion Week, and Salone del Mobile have reshaped the city, with an eye toward the 2026 Milan-Cortina Olympics.
