Perimetro Community Opens Camera Settantasette Gallery in Milan

Perimetro, a Milan-based photography community, is opening a physical space called Camera Settantasette at Via Padova 77, opposite Parco Trotter. The hybrid gallery-studio will host workshops, exhibitions, photo shoots, book and fanzine presentations, and a bar. Founder Sebastiano Leddi emphasizes the space's role in fostering social and cultural connections, moving beyond digital storytelling. A crowdfunding campaign, 'Un ritratto per Camera Settantasette,' runs from April 1 to July 2025, where photographers will make portraits of donors and neighborhood residents. The opening is planned for September/October 2025 or March 2026, depending on funding. Leddi notes that in an era of hyperconnection yet disconnection, cultural spaces are vital, especially as social venues in Milan like Leoncavallo and Macao close. Perimetro's mission is to engage citizens, not consumers, and Via Padova's active network of associations aligns with its DNA.
