Performance Cycle at Rome's Mattatoio Led by Cesare Pietroiusti

Between March 19 and May 19, 2019, La Pelanda / Mattatoio in Rome presents a series of performances curated by Cesare Pietroiusti, the artist and President of Palaexpo. This initiative delves into performance across various dimensions, including historical, corporeal, architectural, urbanistic, collective, and virtual aspects. It marks the initial phase of a larger project aimed at establishing a master's program in performing arts and a permanent interdisciplinary laboratory by 2020, engaging festivals, universities, and international educators. The cycle commenced with a workshop led by Luigi Presicce (L'Accademia dell'immobilità, March 19-31), followed by nontantoprecisi's performances (La scena presente, April 9-14), Fanny & Alexander's work (BAUM! I libri di oz, May 8-11), and composer Stefano Battaglia (La Performance, May 14-19). The project promotes interdisciplinary collective learning, drawing inspiration from John Dewey's idea of continuous experience.
