festival-fair · 2026-04-20

So, from October 12 to 31, 2021, New York City will host the ninth biennial Performa, and it’s all happening outside! This organization focuses on live performances by visual artists and has invited a diverse group of creators to showcase new works. Some of the featured artists include Kevin Beasley, Ericka Beckman, and Tschabalala Self, among others. RoseLee Goldberg, who is the Founding Director and Chief Curator, described this event as a bold expression of radical urbanism. The outdoor setting aims to encourage creative actions that reflect the city’s spirit while addressing important social and political issues, continuing Performa’s mission to explore urban themes through performance art.
