Performa Biennial 2023: 40 Artists, 19 Days Across NYC

The tenth edition of the Performa Biennial is happening from November 1 to 19, 2023, in various spots around New York City, featuring 40 artists and collectives from different countries. Noteworthy events include new pieces from Performa Commissions by artists like Nikita Gale, Julien Creuzet, and others, along with the Finnish Pavilion Without Walls and a series titled Protest & Performance: A Way of Life. The commissioned works will be displayed at places like the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and Judd Foundation. RoseLee Goldberg and her curatorial team are organizing the event, with ArtReview partnering for media coverage. Tickets are available on the Performa website, which will also host live streams. Since it started in 2004, Performa has attracted over 250,000 visitors across more than 200 venues.
