Perazzoli and Innamorato's Dueling Paintings at Viasaterna

Federica Perazzoli (Sorengo, 1966) and Daniele Innamorato (Milan, 1969), co-founders of the KINGS collective, present a dual solo exhibition at Viasaterna gallery in Milan. The show juxtaposes their recent painterly research through contrasting styles and cross-references across rooms. Innamorato's anti-academic approach involves decades of experimentation, manipulating paint through smearing, veiling, compressing, scratching, and pressing, resulting in a physical struggle that leaves wrinkles, scars, and scarifications on the canvas surface. His works exhibit a fierce vibratility and epidermal friction. Perazzoli's paintings, by contrast, feature a more dilated and restful breath, with vaporous geological veils and soft slopes evoking symbolist suggestions. Her chromatic fields open into clearings between two lateral cliffs, where ethereal female figures emerge from an arcadian, mythological backdrop. Despite these differences, both artists share the same rosy and turquoise dominants, as seen in Innamorato's Untitled 572 (2023) with its dense crosshatch of telluric ripples and Perazzoli's My Inner Self (2023) with its velvety gorge of colored air. The exhibition creates an enveloping synergy of chromatic empathy, as if the two artists, who have long shared studio spaces, are tuned to the same channel despite their opposing execution methods. The show runs at Viasaterna in Milan.
